Dev Log 04.14.2026: History Logs, Servers, and Rainy Day Naps
Random Thoughts from a Restless Mind

The Technical: Still deep in the emergency B2B project — today's focus was adding history logging to various features to make audits easier down the line. The kind of work that nobody notices until they need it, and then they're very glad it's there. Also spun the Twitch bot servers back up today, which ties into the rant.
The Atmosphere: Alternated between The Good Wife and music today — mostly Scary Kids Scaring Kids, which is a very specific mood that I will not be elaborating on.
The Coworker: Hubert was in full sync with the weather today. Napped all morning while it rained, then migrated out to the deck the moment the sun came out this afternoon to nap some more. Honestly, a masterclass in work-life balance.
The Rant: I'm sick. Not a cold, not something you shake in a week — actually sick. The good news is I'm going to be okay, eventually. The less good news is that "eventually" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence, and the road getting there has been a lot. Earlier this year I got hit with it, and somewhere in the middle of that chaos the Uncle Versace Bot servers went down while I was in the hospital. By the time I got out, I had nothing left in the tank — so I left them down. Recently though, I felt something come back. Motivation, maybe. The itch to write code again. So the servers are back up, and I'm going to keep them running for as long as I can. Knock on wood... I don't have a lot of people to talk to about any of this, which is part of why this blog exists. I'm not ready to say everything yet. But I'll get there. For now, it just helps knowing I'm sharing it, even if no one is actually reading.
