Dev Log 05.20.2026: Seasons, Leaderboards, and the Beginning of Something

🤓 The Technical: Quiet day at the job — PR's been sitting out there with both reviewers assigned, neither has touched it, and standard practice says you don't review and merge your own code anyway. Ball's in their court. On my own stuff though, it was a big one. Built and merged season support for the check-in system, so streamers can run time-boxed seasons alongside lifetime stats — giving newer viewers a real shot at the leaderboard without wiping anyone's history. The leaderboard widget is merged too: sorted rankings, milestone badges for streaks and totals, podium emojis for the top three, and brand inheritance so it matches existing widget themes. Also added a chat command so broadcasters and mods can submit feature requests right from stream without touching the dashboard. All of that goes live Sunday. Then after stream, started something new that I'm genuinely excited about — still early days, not ready to talk specifics yet, but the ideas were flowing tonight.

😎 The Atmosphere: Six hours of coworking stream, which somehow made a dead work day feel productive. New Girl on in the background to wind down afterward.

🐶 The Coworker: Hubert had himself a whole day. Started outside in the sunshine doing absolutely nothing and thriving. Came in, did a lap, went back out. Eventually settled in for his afternoon shift of aggressive napping. The grind never stops when you're a French bulldog.

😡 The Rant: Work has been a ghost all week. Nothing on the docket, no assignments, just silence. "Nothing to do" sounds like a dream until it's your reality for days straight and it starts eating at you.

🙂🙂🙂 The Smiles: Two and a half hours of genuine creative momentum after stream on that new project. Sometimes ideas just click, and tonight was one of those nights.
