Dev Log 06.09.2026: Task Board Toggles, Seven Seasons Too Many, and a Good Movie Night

Random Thoughts from a Restless Mind

🤓 The Technical: Quiet day on the work side - had a PR to submit and that was mostly it. The personal project energy went toward Uncle Versace Bot. Got a couple of feature requests from a friend and tackled them: background transparency/opacity control for widgets, and a pagination-to-scrolling toggle for the task board widget. Pagination was the original call - it's genuinely better on mobile, which a lot of Twitch viewers are on - but it's a user preference thing, so now it's toggleable. The scrolling mode came with a few of its own settings: broadcasters can pin their own task to the top, and they can set the scroll speed (slow, medium, or fast). Nothing groundbreaking, but it's the kind of polish that makes a widget feel like it actually belongs to whoever's using it.

😎 The Atmosphere: Finished New Girl this morning - seven seasons, only needed four, but here we are. Watched the first episode of the original Transformers cartoon in the afternoon for nostalgia research purposes. Ended the night cuddled up with Hubert watching The Conjuring, which, given my general mental state today, had more of an effect on me than it usually would.

🐶 The Coworker: Got left behind for dinner, which he was not thrilled about. Made up for it by being an excellent couch companion for the rest of the night. Good recovery arc.

😡 The Rant: Will they, won't they as a storytelling device. Two adults. Seven years. Nobody on earth operates like this. Either something happens or it doesn't, but the artificial prolonging of it for the sake of keeping viewers hooked is just lazy television, and everyone involved knows it. Rant over.

🙂🙂🙂 The Smiles: Dinner out with mom - always a good Tuesday. Ended the night tired, fed, and with Hubert snoring next to me. Sometimes that's all you need.
