Dev Log 07.10.2026: One Last PR and the Angel Deck's Debut

🤓 The Technical: The day started with me waking up two minutes before standup, which is exactly the energy you want on a Friday. But once the adrenaline settled, it turned into a solid close to the week — got the last of the code and UI on my PR tested, reviewed, committed, and submitted. Nothing else assigned, so I pinged the PM about what's next on the board. And that's the other bit of news: the emergency project has grown up. What started as a scraped-together mini team now has an actual PM and BA, and I'm rolling into a new phase of it — 100% billable through mid-October. After starting the year on the bench, that one feels good. I had vague plans to poke at the movie site after Magic, but my body filed a formal objection, so that's a problem for another day.

😎 The Atmosphere: No shows, no music — just Friday survival mode. Laundry cycles timed off my Fitbit, a skillet of potato, sausage, and egg burritos big enough to carry me through an evening of Magic, and a cup of coffee I completely forgot about until it was lukewarm.

🐶 The Coworker: Hubert spent most of the morning outside by himself, which he's been doing more and more lately. Maybe he's just soaking up the sun after a rough winter. Part of me thinks he misses having more than just me around. Either way, we ended the night with him in my lap on the couch, and that suited us both fine.

🙂🙂🙂 The Smiles: Friday Night Magic. Played against friends who run stronger decks, and all three of my recently rebuilt bracket three decks picked up a win — including the Angel deck, which won its very first game after the rebuild. You can't script a better debut than that.
